BACK IN THE CITY BEER TOUR

     Zok’s Homebrewing & Winemaking Supplies is offering another day of beer, food and adventure in the Greatest city in the world…Manhattan, NYC.

    The tour will start with a drop off in Greenwich Village at an old friends great beer bar, Jimmy’s No. 43 on East 7^{th St}.  It’s  in the East Village, a funky neighborhood.  Jimmy’s is a classic small beer bar typical in the city, with many special brews on tap and bottles. After last year’s very good lunch buffet at the Gardner Ale House, I arranged with Nik, Jimmy’s head chef, about having a buffet there. He agreed, and we worked out a pretty interesting menu. This is a classic small downstairs bar.  We will have several different food stations located around the bar instead of a single buffet line. There will be limited seating (75 or so), similar to a standup English and Irish pub. After our group of 110 people invaded the much smaller Moan and Dove beer bar in Amherst, Mass. a few years ago, I think Jimmy’s will work. I try to change venues each year to make each tour interesting and memorable. Jimmy’s is a classic. There are many small bars and cafes throughout this East Village neighborhood, and a short walk or taxi west will take you to the West Village, where there are many more.  A map and addresses will follow.

   After lunch and a pint at Jimmy’s, you are free to explore the city’s beer bars or just sightsee around town. We will meet at Heartland Brewery’s “HB Burger” on West 43^rd near Times Square at 5:30 for an “All you can eat and drink buffet”.

    If you wish to meet friends in the city that day, Jimmy’s 43 and HB Burger are reserved ONLY for our tour members WHO PAID.  Friends will not be allowed to enter during lunch or dinner.  We had too many crashers in NYC two years ago. Not again.
